Human Rights Campaign Exposes Maggie Gallagher and National Organization for Marriages lies

Posted by Christian  |  at  9.4.09

Maggie Gallagher is a despicable ass. She serves as President of the National Organization for Marriage , dedicated to fight the evil gay agenda. Moron Maggie and her fellow bigots have come out with a new ad full of misrepresentations and fear mongering. The ad will run on CNN, the Faux News, and MSNBC, targeting New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and California. The video can be seen at their website, {linked above} where you can also leave a comment, if so inclined. If not, it can be viewed below.

All those concerned citizens featured in the ad are hired actors. You can watch their auditions here and here

The ad's claims are as follows~
The general argument of the ad is that the push for marriage equality isn’t just about rights for same-sex couples, it’s about imposing contrary values on people of faith. The examples they cite in the ad are:

(1) A California doctor who must choose between her faith and her job

(2) A member of New Jersey church group which is punished by the state because they can’t support same-sex marriage

(3) A Massachusetts parent who stands by helpless while the state teaches her son that gay marriage is okay
The facts are ~
The California doctor entered a profession that promises to “first, do no harm” and the law requires her to treat a patient in need – gay or straight, Christian or Muslim – regardless of her religious beliefs. The law does not, and cannot, dictate her faith – it can only insist that she follow her oath as a medical professional.

The New Jersey church group runs, and profits from, a beachside pavilion that it rents out to the general public for all manner of occasions –concerts, debates and even Civil War reenactments— but balks at permitting couples to hold civil union ceremonies there. The law does not challenge the church organization’s beliefs about homosexuality – it merely requires that a pavilion that had been open to all for years comply with laws protecting everyone from discrimination, including gays and lesbians.

The Massachusetts parent disagrees with an aspect of her son’s public education, a discussion of the many different kinds of families he will likely encounter in life, including gay and lesbian couples. The law does not stop her from disagreeing, from teaching him consistently with her differing beliefs at home, or even educating her child in a setting that is more in line with her faith traditions. But it does not allow any one parent to dictate the curriculum for all students based on her family’s religious traditions.
So once again, the wingnuts blur reality to suggest "good hard working Americans" are going to lose their rights, if they give other people rights. I think that sums it up. The HRC also has an interactive website up, which isn't working for me at this moment, called endthelies.org. And below is a video of Maggie in action, {shudder} debating HRC President Joe Solmonese, on Hardball.

Bernie Farber - CTV on notice.........Jason Kenney next

Posted by Christian  |  at  3.4.09

George Galloway is taking action against Canadian Jewish Congress mouthpiece Bernie Farber, over remarks made during an appearance on the CTV network. What those remarks were, has not been disclosed.

But Farber and the rest of the Israel can do no wrong crowd have been spewing quite a bit of late so there is probably plenty to work with.

Oh, and Mr.Galloway, if I can direct your attention to this hit piece from the same Bernie Farber in a recent National Post article. I wonder if Farber has ever condemned the slaughter of innocent Palestinian children with even half the gusto in going after Galloway?

George is planning to bring a defamation suit against Jason Kenney and an unnamed Canadian official, who he says has brandished him a terrorist. Galloway had some strong words for Steve Harper as well.
"Far, far more people across Canada and indeed across the world have paid attention to this tour than otherwise would have done if the flat-footed, blundering, dead-end, has-been, George Bush-bootlicking government in Ottawa had not taken these measures," he said to loud applause.
Ouch! Both Farber and CTV refused to comment.

have you been wondering what Zaynab Khadr has been up to recently?

Posted by Christian  |  at  2.4.09

I haven't, but still, and I'm not sure why, I find this new story intriguing.

I don't remember much of the documentary, Son of al Qaeda, starring the Khadr family. What I do remember, is not having any sympathy for them. I remember how both mother and daughter spoke affectionately when referring to bin laden. How Mrs.Khadr disapproved of Western values, so much so, that she didn't want to raise her kids here. I remember being pissed off. Anyway...

Break-in reveals marriage of judge's son, Khadr sister.
